BANGKOK TRIP - Day 1

Journey to the airport and flight to Bangkok were uneventful. No terrorists. No snakes on the plane. Haha…
The journey was so bored, I fell asleep.

Reached Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Met our trip guide, J, who is a representative from the Kasetsart University (KU). He is the person who will be taking care of us during our stay in Bangkok. A very polite man, and as I got to know him better, turned out to also be someone who loves to partaayyy… (He was the one who introduced us to the crème de la crème of Bangkok’s nightlife) J

After a short briefing, we were brought to our hostel.

The Bansabai Hostel.

Nama je hostel, but inside……

My room...

The very comfortable beds

There are over 80 TV channels provided to us. Crazy right?

All the above for only 300 baht (about RM30) per person per night. It's really cheap!

After putting our stuffs, we were whisked off to KU. On our way, we saw these colourful taxis:

And these are views of their highways:
Traffic jam. Just like KL :(

We were told that there’s a simple dinner awaiting us, and during the dinner, we’ll be introduced to the Faculty of Agro-Industry’s Dean, lecturers and a few of their students.

The university is so cool, they have an entire building just for parking cars.

While waiting for dinner to be served, we mingled around with the students and learnt some simple Thai words and phrases. Most of my friends were asking for translation for a few of these phrases:
-
    “How much is this?”
-       “Too expensive. Can it be cheaper?”
-       “Can I get a discount?”

All were busy planning ahead for shopping trips, which to my surprise, were actually part of the itinerary. We were being paid by our university to go shopping in Bangkok. How cool was that?! Haha…

In my mind, however, were a few phrases which are totally different from the ones stated above. Instead of the above, I was thinking of these:
-
     “Hi. My name is…”
-       “What’s your name?”
-       “Can I have your Facebook address? MSN too?”

Okay, most of you will now think that I’m desperate or something, but with girls,

and guys like these:

Eh, silap. This guy is from UPM :p

I don’t believe you are not even a wee bit interested. :p

Haha. No la. Actually, my motive was to know more people and make more friends. Serious……………….  :p

After a wonderful dinner, we were brought back to our hostels so that we can have a good rest and be ready for more leng luis activities the following day. J

Notice anything weird about this picture? All the guys are on the left hand-side of the picture. I guess you know the reason why. Hahaha... :p

To be continued....
