Winter marks a new beginning?

So, how is everyone doing? How was the holidays. As for me, I am still enjoying the sleep in my timefree zone. :) The weather here are getting colder day by day. It is afterall winter season. So winter time, YEAH!! Wait?? Where are the snow?? Oh bummer, Florida doesn't snow. =.=



Anyhow, at least the chills compliment being in winter time. Actually, aside from being cold, I am pretty bored during my holidays. Games are what i spent doing and am still doing throughout the holidays. There was only one time that I hung out with my friends during the break. Boy, it was fun. We called it "Entourage Night". Basically, what we did was had a bunch of people over and then go for dinner. We were planning for Perubian dinner, but the shop was closed. So we ended up in a Cuban restaurant. It was a nice place, but we were the only ones there. Haha. So this is me looking completely lost at the menu....

I ordered "Ropa Vieja", pronounced "Ropa V a ha". It is a beef stew with peas and something else, served with yellow rice. Haha, i like pronouncing spanish words because it makes me embracing my "spanish side". hahaha, i have a spanish side?? I just think that they are cool. :) (second smiley)

So after dinner, we went back to La Casa, a house shared by 5 spanish people, my friends. We first watched funny youtube videos, and i learned MEN"S ROOM ETHICS!! whoa. too bad they don't have it for the ladies room, because i really want to know :) ( third smiley). So the night grew and some went back as they wanted to prepare for their travel back home. We then randomly talked and stumbled on an interesting topic of spanish family. Haha. I enjoyed listenning to their stories, and comparing it to Asian households. Spanish family from what i've heard is really a tough environment to live in. All of my friends shared horrible experiences in their family. Basically, the parents rules everything, and will like to instill disipline "unneccessarily". But they all laugh about it and are with good terms with their parents although they can't bear living together with them, which is kinda funny ^^. So i asked them if they would do the same to their kids, and one voice was achieved, all of them said definately. They want to bring the same hell to their kids, haha. Well, mainly is because it is a part of their culture. So after all the stories, one of my friend and I watched Russell Peter's Red white and brown, as others are already asleep. Russell Peter is a great comedian. :) (fourth smiley). *Be a man* *Be a man* Haha. After that, the curtains call and i slept at 4 something in the morning. snore snore, no i don't snore.

So yup, that was my one and only outing during the holidays. As with family, we went to the movies. We watched AVATAR. One of the best movie i've seen. I just like the way how the movie creates a fantasy and make it so real. Go watch it in 3D. For those who hasn't watch it yet, make it a new year resolution to watch it in 3D. Haha, at least one resolution will come to pass. And of course, dogs dogs dogs and dogs. I LOVE dogs. One of my favourite is Mariah aka Baby. She have no back feet due to an accident when she was small, partly my fault. But Christmas is a season of miracles. She is getting a prosthetic feet soon. I am happy for her. She can run by then and enjoy being a dog. She never run because it hurts her even by walking. So she sometimes just drag herself, but so do walk. A picture of her,

Friday the 13th

It's friday the 13th and when went to office and check my mail, i got a really surprising news.
It's all over the net by now so here's the press release :)

"AMD and Intel Announce Settlement of All Antitrust and IP Disputes
SUNNYVALE/SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Nov. 12, 2009 – Intel Corporation and Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD) today announced a comprehensive agreement to end all outstanding legal disputes between the companies, including antitrust litigation and patent cross license disputes.
In a joint statement the two companies commented, “While the relationship between the two companies has been difficult in the past, this agreement ends the legal disputes and enables the companies to focus all of our efforts on product innovation and development.”Under terms of the agreement, AMD and Intel obtain patent rights from a new 5-year cross license agreement, Intel and AMD will give up any claims of breach from the previous license agreement, and Intel will pay AMD $1.25 billion. Intel has also agreed to abide by a set of business practice provisions. As a result, AMD will drop all pending litigation including the case in U.S. District Court in Delaware and two cases pending in Japan. AMD will also withdraw all of its regulatory complaints worldwide. The agreement will be made public in filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission"

Intel must be shaking in their boots after being sued by the NY attourney, EU, Japan and Korean trade commisons. They paid dell 6 billion dollars to not use AMD chips, not to mention HP , IBM and more.
AMD will go fabless, which means no more fabrication plant and will only do R&D and design.
The nice fabrication plant is sold and is being owned by GLOBALFOUNDRIES

Blog has been dead for some time.

Guess everyone, including myself, has been busy.

Well, anyway, I'm currently free and thought of posting some updates of my life. (not that you guys are interested anyway)

Well, first up: My industrial training.

Some of you would have known about me getting my internship placement at a company named Kerry's Ingredients.

What you guys do not know is what this company is all about (I, myself don't even know much)

So, I did some research and this is some of the information I got regarding Kerry's.

Would not want to bore you guys with too much details, so here is the gist of it:

- Kerry's Ingredients is a company based in Ireland.

- It specializes in food ingredients and flavours, serving the food and beverage industry.

Well, that's what I got from their website. More information would have to wait till when I actually start my training there. And for those of you who even cares to know, I'm attached to the R&D department. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and hoping that it would not be a boring place to be :)

Moving on, musings of mine.

When there are problems with friends, when you see two friends having a tiff, a quarrel, a fight, a war, what can us as friends do? We try to help, but it is really none of our business. So, we just sit by the sides, enjoy the "show" while eating popcorns?

Well, I do not wish to be a gossip-monger, nor do I want to talk bad stuff about my coursemates, but recently there has been some problems between my coursemates (and to Ee Kai, it does not involve me. Haha)

But I, of course, have my own opinion on that matter. I do not support either one, but it is more like my opinion on what you can and cannot do, even in a fight. Simply put, one of the sides started to attack on the other side's parents (saying bad things bout the other side's parents). To me, parents' involvement is a big NO-NO.

*Quoted from Gossip Girl, and I find it quite true in this context. When you had a fight (more like a quarrel) with your friends, there is always a way back. A way for us to apologize, make up, forgive and be friends again. But when one side clearly crosses the line (in this case, dragging parents into the equation), I wonder if there is a turning back option. And till now, (the problem had been going on for a while now), I can't see an end to it.

But then again, it is not my problem. It's just that I do wonder about this.

My wish is for everything to be fine again, and for collateral damage to be under control.

Hmm, sad things aside, recently I went to celebrate a friend's birthday. Went to a look-out point at Cheras, and this is the view.

It was a clear and sharp view, as the rain before had wash away all the mist or dust that would otherwise cloud the view.

Went to a restaurant, with Middle East theme, named Breads and Olive. The food wasn't really nice though. But it doesn't really matter does it? All that matter is we CELEBRATED. Lolz

2. As of this moment, I'm still left with another paper before my exam (and my 5th semester) ends. Should I feel sad? Happy? Haha... It's all a mixed bag of feelings inside me. I would be back home for half a year (happy), starting my industrial training (nervous), leaving my uni friends (sad), have more time hanging out at McD with DC (bored happy, of course), wont be having exams for a semester (happy, definitely). So, overall, I guess I'm still happy :)

Ok la, i guess that's all. It's a very long post, and congratulations for staying with my post up to this point.

been awhile since i check out this blog...

i must have missed out alot... :)

not much of updates from september...busy period for everyone??

nothing much on myside...just continuous work n work n work...

in just a blink of an eye...i've been based back here in Penang for almost 3 months now...time sure flies...

it's just a small base...so we don't fly to as much destinations as we fly out from KL..the ladies are not as pretty as the once in KL base either...hah..but there are afew here...ahem....they're not in the picture.. :P

it's just a small hub with only selected 7 co-pilots and 7 captains...with 32 flight attendants..2 assigned planes...a small community..

but get to be home with family..and at the same time i get to do the job i love most...why not??

i surely don't miss the life back in KL...trust me...it sucks big time..
being based back here in Penang..the Hong Kong and Macau route is like a routine...and the typhoon season is unavoidable sometimes :(

when it comes to work...nothing is easy eh? :(

Just received good news for my internship application.

I had been accepted by an ingredients company, Kerry's Ingredients, located somewhere at Mak Mandin.

So, Yay!!!

I'll be back in penang from Dec 2009 till July 2010

Will be going back for the Raya break on the 18th (Friday), 6 p.m.

Going back by bus provided by Chung Ling.

I really hope there would be no traffic jam, but I doubt so :(

I've finally found some free time so I js decided to blog a little here.

So...
I've been in school for almost two weeks now.
and it's, one word... CRAZY.

I experienced the so-called 'culture shock' for the very first time.
You wouldn't know how hard was my first and second day. My jaw dropped when I heard the conversations of 15-16 year olds, talking about 'happy pills' and weed.

and here I am, among them. I telan panadol pun susah.
but oh well, who am I to judge? It's already their way of life and Im js not used to it, that's all.

however, thank God I found a group of friends that I can click with who are actually decent here.
but they're one year above me, though.

and oh, I have to wear this crappy uniform 5 days a week.

Im doing IB Diploma Programme to those who didnt know.
6 subjects - 3 higher level and 3 standard level.
Im taking Higher Maths (SIAO. It's like 10x Addmaths!), Theatre Arts and Business.
Standard English, Biology and Spanish.

Ooo. I love my Spanish class.
Im learning objects at the moment. and those brief 'how are you' conversations.

little summer project of mine

hello guys, just wanna let you guys know this.
this picture here was just recently built by me dad and bro. it's an OUTDOOR KITCHEN!!! you guys see those small tablet brick/stone...those were damn heavy...and we had to carried it by hand and place it nicely....very susah....total of 315 tablets....but doable. aside from the tarred pavement inside the fence, the rest of the area was grassy area originally.. that also took us alot to do....the hardest part is to line up the tablets, EVENLY....phew...well i didnt do the fence actually i wasnt there....i just wanna say that when my dad said wanna build an outdoor kitchen by ourselves, i was shocked...cause i dont normally do any heavy labor..and i kind of dont believe that i can do it, haha....but after seeing this, i believe everything is doable with a little more heart.... :). and i think they are going to use it for my birthday party haha....will be nice.

My Graduation, Thank You All!

Thinking back a few weeks ago, i actually thought of not going to my own convocation ceromony. Boy, thanks for knocking some sense me, i would really regret if i missed on one of the most the most wonderful day of my life.

Sorry i can't any pictures because i don't have them. Cat would you kindly give me or post it if you're free. A big thanks to of you guys in making this such a special and memorial day for me.It's has been a very tiring 3 days for all of us and as of right now i am yawning all the way in the office.

Congratulations to our tai lo too for his success in his presentation. It certainly blows other groups out of the water. Remember that i'm ready to provide you with mockups, DFD, ERD, UML and technical documents for the system. Hopefully it will look good and i can proceed with the development.

The convocation was great fun albeit for the crowded walkways which makes finding people so tough. It's good to see all of my friends graduating and it seems only like yesterday we entered uni as freshmen. But it's even better for all of u guys to be over there. Thanks for the flowers and the blow up sponge bob thingy. I definately save it for you guy's convocation :P

Here a highlight of good times for each of us,

Alex : Met Catherine's friend. Seems to be getting well with her. Wish thier relationship will blossom. I have faith in this 1. Alex, time to get into the dating game!

Vishal : Compete in a grand biz competition with fat wallet investors in it. His presentation is the best. U guys did very well even for the major disadvantages, bias competition and also competing against that pretty girl haha.

Tai Boon : Holds a high post in his university, i can see he gets to talk to so mnay pretty girls. They just flock to him. That what u can expect from our ladies's man tai boon.

Ee Kai : He gets to buy a BIG HUGE card !!! nuff' said.

Catherine : She gets to buy a comfy bra!!!
