Rant of the Week : Waaaaghh!

Fans of Warhammer should be familiar with the Greenskin's Warcry.. Waaaaagggh!

But today the Waaaaggh! is not on the excitement when the copy of Warhammer Online we ordered(Mine and Alex's), arrived into my possession but the Waaaaggh! of disapointment.



I rushed home today from work today knowing that the Game we ordered 2 days ago had already been delivered to my doorsteps. I was so excited! Although it took only 2 days but the waiting feels like an eternity. I quickly unwrap the parcel as soon as i got back and went into installing the game.




As u all might know. Warhammer Online requires subscription of Rm50 per-month to play.
And the game itsef cost Rm129. Rather expensive for a game. Anyways from what i told on their website the game came with 1 month free period.. So we thought hmmm we can try it for 1 month and see if it's worth the subsciption.


When i was intalling the game, i tried to register an account with the activation code provided on my boxed copy. And then disaster happen. It requires us to buy another 2 months' worth of subsciption in order to continue. Although as i said earlier the game is shipped with 1 month free game time. But we can only use that after we purchase the 60 days Time Card. What????!!!!


It's so sad i can only look at the box.Now we have to wait patiently again for another order of our 60 Days Time Card to arrive... Can't even go into the game to look at the menu. I'm stuck with a small pop-up asking for my account . WAAAARRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!

Hi you guys. Its been a while since i posted at the hangout.. Haven't been able to log into this web page in my 'lovely' jungle.. Anyways, raya is coming so to those celebrating it, Selamat hari raya. Have a wonderful festival and also enjoyable moments. So how's every1?
Seems like all are doing just fine.

life at UUM during Raya is so.. erm should be said sometimes enjoyable and also kinda Bored. The best part of puasa is late nite meals for my frens and I.Lolx gain weight already. Haven't been exercising to le guys, stamina and football skills all i think rusted liao. EEkai and taiboon surely will be damn good when the next time we play.

1) Foods from breakfast till supper = the same old design, placement, taste, etc
2) Assignments = weigh heavier than 'the big show' (for those who watches WWE) -.-
3) Entertaiment and transportation is i think by far the worst moment for lots of undergrads here
though. The nearest cinema is around 35minutes away. If u take a bus to get to the mall i think
it would be around an hour. It's not a wise choice taking the hot whether into account!!

Well, do make many new frens here though. And moonfestival in my Uni had just passed and well.. although its kinda a dull night, there are a few performance which really got every 1 ( i think is around 3000 attendances) getting into the fun. I managed to sit at the front row during the programme. Special thxs to my 2 frens who have help me kept the seat especially for me! EEkai msg me that he was coming during that day but he couldn't make it.. But do try to come during next year's k?. Oh ya, did i mention i got an orang asli as my roommate?
My junior roommates...i have 3

A roommate... Already tangguh semester and none of us knew wat is his real reason for doing that either. So now i'm staing with 2 other juniors.

B roommate... When u talk to him he can talk a whole loads of.. god knows.. stuffs.. And also he could talk a long time to you. So everytime i talk to him i regretted in the end. Tend to walk away or ignore him after a few minutes onli he can stop...*-* ( He talks in his sleep too o.O)

C roommate..de orang asli.. He uses a weird and oh gosh F***ing perfume everytime he gets ready to go to kuliah.. Even when I'm still in my bed i have to cover my head with my blanket. Thank God i bring a think blanket. When he left the room.. Away i go to open the door and windows to let the smell evaporates. Otherwise, he is a good roommate. ONli the PERFUME!!!

After think for a while, i finally came out with a statistic .

100%- 50% as there are man and woman
Within the 50% - 50 % = 25% as some woman are lesbian
Within the 25% - 50% = 12.5% as some woman i may or may not like
Within the 12.5% - 50% = 6.25% as some woman may or may not like me

only 6.25 % out of 100 % we can find our lover.... So i do agree there are many fish in the pond but not all type of fish can be catch by u!!!

THE CASINO

today , my dad place in RM 10 just to try out for the Roulette as we r in a hurry to check out. So This RM 10 is just one time try as it is RM 10 per bet...and WOW... it tripple to RM 30. And so we keep playing till run out of time... in the end its RM 120... From RM 10 to RM 120... how much we earn? xD..... I guess we all really should get to genting when tai boon reach his 21. we should like place maximum RM 50...lose finish ...win keep continue till u r bored.. i already learn few tricks of my own... Place safe which is 83 percent win or play risky which maximum 33 percent win...

You know.. if we could really win this.... XBOX 360 for sam will come true, Shopping spree for CAT AND SYAZA.... VISHAL erm, CLUBBING and FLIRTING OUT WITH GIRLS EVERYDAY( just joking xD)...TAI BOON... put into bank for Fixed Deposit xD... EEKAI of course erm ( secrets)....WONG...can pay us back the LEO CLUB MONEY ...xD....

well like they said... first timer always has the better luck...so i'm used....so u guys still be able to win lots money..!!!

Sam's Recent Disappointing Games

Ok after writing my take on Spore, i just want to list the games that really let me down.
Seems that developers are good at generating hype but when you get a hold of the game it just disappoints.

1) Enemy Territory : Quake Wars
We =D*C= have been playing almost a daily basis on Wolf:ET. So when Quake Wars was first shown i was so hyped. I think it was around in '05 when i first saw it. Stayed a few nights trolling the forums for a Beta key for QW. When i finally played it, it is just plain bad. It doesn't feel right at all. I hated it to its core. But recently i went for a game of QW with my colleagues. I had fun! Mayb i expected too much when it was released or i kept dying when i was in beta thanks to being pwned by darn clanners!

Cons : Bad animation, Ugly Graphics! : Shitty Normal Mapped low poly models, Megatexture..LOL! (always knew doom 3 engine(id tech 4) can't render outdoors), Stupid Vehicle Physics, Horrible Sound Effects. Unbalanced!.. Stupid Stroggs and thier IMBA icarus.


2) Spore.

3)Hellgate: London
I guess this disappoints Alex more than i do

Expected : Woo! creators of Diablo. Yay! Procedereal Generated levels!.... Addictive gameplay.
It's Diablo with superb graphics !

Reality: Memory Leak!..... Dull levels .. Repetitve, And gameplay is just sucky. No voice acting,
Ok.. i din even get to the second town , station or watve... I don't like it.

4) Dawn Of War : ShitStorm
What happen if you pass the development of a good game to a developer that is on the verge of bankruptscy?
Haha.. just look at the stupid air vehicles... Planes hover in the air...
Developer A : Hey B, DOW engine cant do air units
Developer B : Just make it like a normal unit with elevated heights.

5)Gothic 3
I just love the gothic series!... It's a cult hit and everytime i played Gothic 1, 2 i cant seem to stop. Thanks you gothic for causing my SPM result to be substandard. I felt milten, gorn , lester, diego are my real friends ...
I still love G3 Love the depth of field effects.. First time i seen this type of effects in a game.
But G3 is plague with bugs , memory issues and not the same gameplay from the past. But i still played it because is Gothic!

Rant of the Week : Spore

Spore. There is only a word to best explain this game, Disappointing! This is my take on Will Wright's latest game. Don't get me wrong i really admire will wright. His games are legendary and a genius in game design. Take Sim City, it's almost 2 decades old but it's still amazes me how non-linear or the common term "sandbox" gameplay never gets old. True, it's been resurected with a shiny new coat of paint and modification over these years, Sim City 3000, Sim City 4 ...(Societies, heard it's bad and dumbed down gameplay) but it's still uses the same old concept. Now don't get me started on The Sims, i'm not going into about the best selling game of all time. So when he annouces his next project i was so amazed, i think back in '05 .. patiently waiting the game that will set a new standard in the industry , a game which is times more complex and flexible than his previous work.

Ok.... to cut the story short i will briefly explain the concept of the game. You get to control evolution. You start out as a single cell and guide it through evolution. You develop legs , brains, form civlization and stuff through time. The wow factor was so great. The previews they showed blows the gaming world away

Fast foward to '08. Spore is finally released. It's a laughing stock and an insult. Mayb Will is too ambitious? He reminds me of Molyneux when Fable is in development. What you get is 5 dumb down gameplay represent by 5 different stages. It's so idiot proof. No depth , No sandbox gameplay. Will statement? He want to create to cater casual gamers... Then y the hype? Then y claim something that it's not designed to be? Played it yourself...If you been following game development over these years this is like a step back.

Ok here's my creature "Firsty", i only played past the civilization stage. I am just entering the space stage. But i just can't shake the disappointment i have in me and don't seem to be having fun playing this game. So untill i am really bored i will try the space stage but right i might yawn to death if i play any more of Spore

Hi all....

First all, my apologies to sam and alex for not being able to spend time with you guyz just before i left...was kinda wrapped up. Anyways hope all of you'll are doing great and in best of health.

I'm back in uni now, at the start of the second year and was involved in overseeing the orientation and registration of new students. It was a great opportunity to meet them all and even interact with their parents (ulterior motives here..hehehe)....Anywayz i'm staying off campus now...about 10 min's walk to the main teaching block and its a scenic walk too...

I'm staying with 4 students at the moment, its was only 3 a few days ago...but the fourth one.."bovril" i call him, simply popped up and enquired about an available room even though he had already paid the deposit for uni arranged accommodation...my guess is because he had gotten a house with Nigerian mates...My roommate Ashwin, has not arrived yet but he seems to be pestering his parents to get him an alienware laptop......so i and alexander, my other housemate ended up doin all the cleaning earlier in the week..

Classes are starting only on monday and already the following week is off for hols...never thought i would ever say this, but i think have too much of them hols.....tickets back to Penang are priced at RM 55 now from seremban ( highway robbery !!!) and that now, only the "emergency bas persiaran". Well enough said, hope to hear from you guys soon and till then cheers......

Problem Started

OK here it is... so assignment was given. And its a group assignment. U guys should know there aint much people in my class . So i hv to group with this guy. Last week he was still ok then out of the blue he started moody and ignoring our calls. Skip class sometimes and now he is my group. i dont hope i hv any trouble with the assignment but really need his help..i cant finish alone... Well now he seems moody, heard from his pal that his broke up with his ex few months ago but recently he saw her and then after tat the girl started to call him back...That's when the problem started. Its seems he still likes her and she likes him too.But anyway, I really so stressful now as i cant i wont be able to finish the assignment alone!!.. GUYS..tell me wat to do with this groupmate. A MOODY , IGNORING DUDE ..how to change him? Else i gonna hv to see my graduation days flew away from my hands...i hope u guys could reply asap as my assignment due date is 7 october 2008... so please help out!!

i really dun wanna write this down cuz i feel im writing BS in this blog, moreover like the title says, i dun really wan to express my feeling now. but, but, but, its 216 in the mornig, and i just finished playing ultimate alliance, ntg else to do.....dont wanna sleep yet...and no one to tok to...but thats not why im emo....i guess i am really just stupid...serious. again this post is about me and ntg else...so stop read....cuz i feel uncomfortable,, but i still wanna post...im indesicive..watver... and i kept thinking blos is to expres oneself/infotainment, so i think thats the reason why i finally post this.

liek the title...emo..i dun wanna feel it but i cant get away from it....it was caused by a single dream i had (well, counting today would be) 2 days ago. i dun wanna prolong this post by word visualizing my dream, but i'll summarize. it all begun so well and happy and warm and nice...and ended in such HORRIFIC UNPREDICTABLE CRAZY SAD moment...ok im exeggerating....but u get my poiint. i wish i havent had that dream....seriously...when i woke up...the very moment i woke up, i felt sumhow that it is better that the dream had come true so i dun have to hide it , but then part of myself dun wan to. feeling very miserable.

i mean, that dream really really reflect what is on my real world life, its like a butterfly effect(dunno if i use this correctly anot, but just pop out of my head and soudned nice)...like seeing the future of wat might happen if i choose that or this decision. and from that dream, it really scares me to where i shud be, be still or move along......such a dilemma huh...ntg new for me...
hmmm...im just so frustrated at myself....but what the heck....i learn this from a fren of mine...
life goes on~......but wat the heck....i dun wan to....im still learning...and its a hard hard phase...

so if ahyone manage to read till here...hope i dun spoil ur day or watsoever.....
